Steel – sleek and versatile, it provides your staircase with an appealing sophisticated look. Durable steel balustrades can be engineered in a number of profiles such as rectangle, round, square and decorative. Steel is an architectural feature that can be used in both internal and external environments. It has high corrosion resistance, is fire resistant, and retains its strength at very high temperatures.

Outdoor designs usually include treads to provide grip when the steel stairs are walked upon. Chequerplate (floorplate) treads have a pattern of protrusions on one side while perforated treads are flat sheets with raised perforated holes and intermediate drain holes. Treads can be powder coated in a range of colours to suit the space.
