Apprentice Stairbuilder

The Role:

We are looking for Apprentice (1st, 2nd, 3rd year) Joiners/Stair Builders to join our team in Blackburn. The successful applicants will be guided through their apprenticeship, learning new skills, and gaining knowledge and experience in stairbuilding and the construction industry.

About you:

You are looking to start making a career in a trade with an industry leader! You are looking to work for a growing and stable company where people have had long term careers and not just had jobs. You will have:  

  • Completed a pre-apprenticeship certification in carpentry / joinery (preferable, but not essential)
  • Are able to work with power tools and basic machinery.
  • The ability understand work instructions and have high attention to detail;
  • A genuine commitment to building a career in the stair building and construction industry.

CNC Operator

The Role:

We have an exciting new role for a highly committed, task focused, CNC Operator to join our team in Blackburn. You will be working with state-of-the-art brand new Biesse 5 Axis CNC machine and will be responsible for the preparation of specialised timber components for our custom-made stairs and balustrading. Training will be provided.                

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • The role is responsible for operating the CNC machine and ensuring the manufacturing of all machined components comply with the correct specifications, optimal machine efficiency, quality standards, and production deadlines.
  • Operate machine in accordance with daily work schedule.
  • Ensure the safety systems of the machine are always fully operational.
  • Troubleshooting of manufacturing problems.

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in operating a CNC machine.
  • Some knowledge of stairbuilding design (preferable).
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under time constraints.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Technical Detailer / Draftsperson

The Role:

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Detailer / Draftsperson to join our timber team. We are a growing company and this role offers great variety for the right person. Your role is to prepare accurate documentation for the manufacture of our architecturally designed timber stairs, handrails and balustrades. You will have a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail, and have the ability to work quickly without compromising on quality.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Create accurate paperwork, drawings, manufacturing specifications, and cutting lists.
  • Interpret architectural drawings, plans, and purchase orders.
  • Monitor variations and changes throughout the pre production process.
  • Provide technical support to production and installation teams as required.
  • Ensure customer specifications, company standards as well as other regulation requirements are continuously met.

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Be a motivated, proactive person who can work unsupervised and as part of a team.
  • Ability to demonstrate stair industry/carpentry experience.
  • Experience stairbuilding drafting programs.
  • Strong willingness to learn and grow with the company.
  • Have a positive ‘can do’ attitude and a desire to work in a dynamic environment.

  • Manufacture traditional and customised staircases, balustrades and, handrails.
  • Be a motivated, proactive person who can work unsupervised and as part of a team.
  • Have effective time management skills to meet deadlines efficiently.

 

Skills & Experience:

  • A trade qualification in Joinery or similar or demonstrated industry experience in stairbuilding.
  • Ability to interpret architectural drawings and translate them into well-crafted staircases.
  • Have outstanding attention to detail and can deliver high-quality workmanship.
